REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive
2012 - Present
Way back in 1995, some caring REALTORS® in Vancouver observed the homeless situation in the city’s eastside and said to themselves, we’ve got to do something.
Since its start, we've collected enough blankets and warm clothing to help at least 185,000 people keep warm throughout Metro Vancouver
Diana volunteered as this year's co-ordinator for Richmond/South Delta 18th year working to make a difference and bring some holiday warmth to children and other people in need in Metro Vancouver through the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive.
Culture Days is a collaborative, Canada-wide volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Once again, the event will feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes”—and to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work in their community. Diana volunteered and played a role in this important and meaningful grassroots, collaborative national movement.
For the second year in a row, you can relive the days when Richmond’s Steveston Village was a major port-of-call for fleets of sailing ships from around the world. This year’s Ships to Shore event is moving right into Steveston Village.
A small flotilla of tall ships and other sailing ships and historical vessels of note were on display and available for free public boarding at Imperial Landing. Ahoy there, m’hearty, Diana volunteered and welcomed aboard the public for free viewing and on board tours of the historic vessels.
Each year, over 1200 pounds of fresh wild BC sockeye salmon is expertly barbecued over an alder wood fire and served with salad and a bun. A must-have treat!
Diana volunteered in this year's Salmon Festival serving up salmon to everyone that came out to celebrate
